Population: Population in 2018 was 2,545. 

German settlers first moved to the area right around 1870. The Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio railroad was built through the area in 1876. This train had a stop in McQueeney. A local businessman, Mr. Blumberg, built a general store not far from the rail stop in the 1900's. Mr. Blumberg wanted the railroad to move the stop to his store location. The railroad did not move the stop,the post office that opened in 1900 was was named McQueeney.
